Abstract

This study investigates the role of Islamic boarding school education in mitigating gadget addiction among individuals in Ilung Village during the Society 5.0 era. With the pervasive influence of digital technology and gadgets on daily life, especially among younger generations, concerns about addiction and its implications have become increasingly significant. Islamic boarding schools are known for their holistic approach to education, encompassing moral, spiritual, and social development alongside academic learning. This research aims to explore how Islamic boarding schools in Ilung Village integrate strategies and programs to address gadget addiction among their students. The methodology includes qualitative research methods such as interviews, observations, and surveys conducted with students, teachers, and parents in Islamic boarding schools in Ilung Village. The data collected will be analyzed to identify the effectiveness of various educational interventions, religious teachings, and community involvement in combating gadget addiction. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights into the potential of Islamic boarding school education as a proactive measure against gadget addiction in the Society 5.0 era. It also highlights the importance of holistic education approaches that prioritize ethical, moral, and spiritual development alongside technological literacy.
